Hi!

I’m a writer, director, producer, and performer living in Los Angeles. I’d love to show you some of the stuff I’ve made.

The Disruptors (Feature Film)

I wrote and directed an original comedic feature film called The Disruptors. I made it for and with my good friends and collaborators Grant O’Brien and Ally Beardsley.

After a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised over $80,000, production took place in April of 2022. We released on all major VOD platforms in February of 2024.

Total Forgiveness (TV Series)

During my time as the Head of Development at CollegeHumor/Dropout.tv, I co-created, Executive Produced, and co-starred in the series Total Forgiveness. The series tackled the student debt crisis through the lens of a comedic reality competition series. You can view the first episode on YouTube and the following nine episodes on Dropout.

During my time at CH/Dropout, I also developed series such as the hit live-play series Dimension 20, the Chef’s Table parody Gods of Food, and the stoner game show Paranoia.

Splitsider (Website)

I founded Splitsider, a website about comedy, in 2010. As a member of The Awl family of sites, it quickly became a must-read for comedy fans and professionals alike. I was the Editor until 2018, when I sold it to New York Magazine. It has since been folded into their Vulture vertical.

I did much more editing than writing for the site, but I did write some features such as So You Want to Accuse Someone of Stealing Your Joke.

Improv (Live Performances)

I spent over 10 years performing on house improv teams at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York. The most notable was Airwolf, where we performed for sold-out crowds in the East Village every Saturday night for many years. I really loved it!

Various Writing and Editing

I was an Associate Editor at Gizmodo and the Deputy Editor of the now-defunct Dvice. I wrote literally thousands of blog posts at the two sites, the vast majority of which were disposable news posts.

I did write a few things I was proud of, including this feature on the Critereon Collection. I notably earned myself an entry in the index of Walter Isaacson’s Steve Jobs with this post about the iPad that has definitely not aged well. (Forgive the lack of images, things on the internet tend to slowly fall apart over time.)

Amex Commercial (Acting)

I did a commercial for American Express at the South by Southwest conference years ago. To this day, “Nice boots!” is one of the best compliments I’ve ever received.
